Over $50,000 was contributed to the community in the November funding round from the Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust. The $50,525.95 was distributed to 45 particularly worthy organisations within the Otago community, with many others also applying for funding. Among the successful applicants in the November round were Presbyterian Support Otago, Dunedin Women's Refuge, Macandrew Bay Primary School, SeniorNet Otago, the Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust, and the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra. The Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust was established in 2000 to distribute funds, and in the years since, local organisations have been benefited by more than $2.5 million. “It is always great to see organisations that have such a huge impact on people in the community receiving funds through the Trust,” Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust Chair Stan Rodger said.
