No Duff veterans welfare charity founder Aaron Wood wants to help soldiers transition into civilian life after their service ends. Aaron Wood knows firsthand how hard it can be to transition back to civilian life after serving in the military. The pursuit for change has now led the Palmerston North man to establish an Outward Bound course for veterans, the first of its kind in New Zealand. The course was devised with Outward Bound on the basis of self-determination, suggesting people need three core things to be content: feeling competent, authentic and connected to others. The course is set to cost $68,100 and the charity has so far raised just over half that.
