The public administration ministry in an order announced the appointment of Javed on a contract of three years after his retirement on Monday. Javed joined the force in 1986 as an assistant superintendent of police through Bangladesh Civil Service exams in 1984. Javed headed the force during the country’s last general election held by the end of 2018. He had served the Special Branch for nine years. He took measures for the preservation of classified information stored in the record room of the Special Branch onBangabandhu and collected between 1948 and 1971.
