U Pannya Jota Mahathero, 64, locally known as Guru Bhante, was a Theravada monk in Bangladesh. U Pannya Jota devoted his life to learning and practising Buddhism in depth. The Buddha Dhatu Jadi, locally known as Golden Temple, is the largest Theravada Buddhist Temple, with the second largest Buddha statue, in Bangladesh.
