Lamu boat operators have been ordered to do business between 5am to 11pm. He said continued operation of boats outside the stipulated hours has greatly contributed to marine accidents. Kanyiri urged boat owners to register their vessels with the Kenya Ports Authority. Speaking at his Lamu office on Tuesday, Kanyiri said the county administration suspects those who conduct business beyond 11pm or before 5am are up to no good. From today any boat found outside the stipulated time shall be treated as suspect,” he said.
