NGOs dupe street kids into terrorism – Marwa

Speaking in Witu, Lamu, recently, Marwa said investigations have revealed that some NGOs at the Coast operate cartels with terrorist links. Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa has warned of charities recruiting street children on the pretext of helping them, and training them to be terrorists. He warned Coast residents against joining criminal gangs and said the government will not spare any individual who intentionally carries out crime. He said the cartels recruit unsuspecting underprivileged youth and street children into terrorism. Marwa said some youth pose as fishermen and spend a lot of time at sea waiting to cross over to Somalia and join terrorist groups.
