Of the 41.2lakh vehicles, only 12.3lakh vehicles have installed the HSRP. As per an RTO officer, from 2013 to 2018 only 12.3lakh vehicles have installed the HSRP, while the rest is running on roads without it. After the enforcement, the Ahmedabad district RTOs were only able to install a total of 33,494 HSRP plates from January 1 till now. Of this, 21,072 HSRPs were installed in Ahmedabad RTO, 5,672 HSRPs were installed in Vastral RTO, 750 HSRPs were installed by Ahmedabad Rural RTO and 6,000 were installed by dealers. First, the applicant has to get an online appointment for HSRP plates at their respective RTOs.
