A teen bashed a minor outside Puke Ariki after taking exception to a video of the youngster "stepping out" someone. A minor cowered on a bench outside New Plymouth’s library as a teenager repeatedly punched her in the face following a dispute over an online video, a court was told. Wetere was dragged away by onlookers while the victim, who suffered a swollen eye, temple and lip, left for home. He said the assault arose from the victim “stepping out” someone in her video, which Wetere had watched and taken exception to. He convicted Wetere on the charge and sentenced her to nine months’ supervision and 40 hours’ community work.
