His protests came even as a shocking video received by TODAY NEWS AFRICA in Washington D.C. circulated around showing Boko Haram beheading a Christian leader Lawan Andimi. Reverend Andimi was abducted by Boko Haram when they attacked Michika in Adamawa state northeast Nigeria on 3 January 2020 during new year celebrations. Later, he appeared in a video released by Boko Haram on 5 January, in which he pleaded with authorities to secure his release. Michaka has been repeatedly attacked by Boko Haram. It’s been 5 years now and Boko Haram has escalated, killing many people and waging a war against mainly Christians.
