“Environmental challenges in the Mediterranean and the role of civil society” was the theme of a training course held in Tunisia from January 28 to 31, 2020. The workshop was an initiative of the Regional Programme “Med dialogue for rights and equality”. The training brought together about thirty participants from North Africa and the Middle East (Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon). This is a technical assistance programme, financed by the European Union, which will be carried out over four years (2019-2020) in the Mediterranean countries. This programme works to strengthen the capacities of civil society organisations in the social area, particularly in the area of sustainable development.
