One-armed British paratrooper to climb Mount Everest


A former Para captain, badly wounded in a gun battle with the Taliban, has told how he will be using his teeth to help him climb Mount Everest. Less than 70 people have completed the challenge for able bodied adventurers since British explorer David Hempleman-Evans became the first in 1998. Martin and his four-strong team are spending a month acclimatising to the altitude and training intensively before attempting a three-day climb to Everest's peak. It's a tough call but the right one if the weather is not good as Everest takes no prisoners.' Barry Le Grys, chief executive of Blesma, adds: 'Martin and Terry have prepared thoroughly for this immense climb.
