Okumbi wants school teachers to be given specialised coaching training

Addressing more than 100 secondary school coaches at the closing of a two-day clinic at Chavakali High. Western region secondary schools coaches need to get advanced training because they are first handlers of most soccer players in the country, Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi said yesterday. Okumbi said this during a two-day football clinic organised by Vihiga Secondary Schools Sports Associations. He said most soccer scouts rush for the rich talents in western region and that is why we must share advanced soccer knowledge we have with the coaches in school.” The future of football lies in the hands of the first hand coaches,” he said.
