Ojiambo reportedly agreed to ODM secretary general Ababu Namwamba and former vice chairman Paul Otuoma's wish to take over her party. Labour Party of Kenya chairperson Julia Ojiambo has said the party welcomes ODM rebel politicians from western Kenya, on condition that they nominate her to parliament. Namwamba and Otuoma last month led a group of nine ODM legislators from western to express their dissatisfaction with the party.
