The extension would enable the transitional committee to lead the Black Stars to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and stay on until September 30, 2019. Fifa announced the Normalization Committee on September 13, 2018, with the mission to revise the Ghana Football Association statutes, conduct elections and manage the daily affairs of country’s football governing body. In their first six months, the committee planned to introduce a football tournament to keep men’s football clubs busy, which they called the Normalization Committee Special Competition. Ghana’s Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Dame, is part of the Task Force with Dr Kofi Amoah there in his capacity as head of the Normalization Committee.
