Ibrahim Mahama's private jet departs Ghana for conversion into national Air Ambulance

General News of Friday, 3 April 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comOne of Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama’s private jets is set to be converted into an air ambulance to serve the public, in what is expected to be a major boost to the country’s emergency medical response capacity. This follows Ibrahim Mahama, owner of Engineers and Planners, taking delivery of a new Bombardier Global 6500, acquired in 2024 but delivered in March 2026 after undergoing modifications. The jet arrived at the Accra International Airport on March 3, 2026. “This is for every Ghanaian, not for me alone,” he said, stressing that the air ambulance would be available for all citizens in times of need. The move, however, is seen as part of efforts to repurpose his former jet for public benefit.
