A New York woman has been charged with killing a 92-year-old World War I veteran during a break-in at his Buffalo home more than three decades ago. Erie County prosecutors announced on Wednesday that fingerprints and DNA evidence linked Saundra Adams to the slaying of Edmund Schreiber, who was found strangled with his own neckties in June 1983. Prosecutors say an unknown accomplice was also involved. She says Adams lives in the same Buffalo neighborhood where Schreiber was slain. Authorities say Schreiber was wounded during WWI and had been awarded a Purple Heart medal.
