Coach Naruephon Kaneson expects the Thai women's football team to beat Indonesia for a place in the semi-finals after a 1-1 draw with Vietnam yesterday. Taneekarn Dangda earned a point for Thailand thanks to her 87th minute strike that cancelled out Van Duong's 45th minute goal. At the previous tournament in Malaysia in 2017, the Vietnamese were crowned champions ahead of Thailand thanks to their better goal difference following a round-robin contest. Naruephon's wards lost to the Vietnamese in the 2019 AFF Women's Championship in Chon Buri a few months ago in his first tournament as coach of the Thai women's team.
