KUALA LUMPUR: The National Sports Institute (NSI) today confirmed that they will not renew Yang Zhuliang’s contract as head coach of the national diving team under the Podium Programme. The NSI issued a statement saying they have agreed to appoint coach Zhang Yukun as temporary head coach of the national diving team. The 53-year-old coach who had just returned from a month long holiday in Australia, had said that there were no negotiations yet with regards to his contract. It is understood that the NSI wants changes for the better for the national diving team and were planning on appointing the coach from China to lead for the new changes and developments. Referring to yesterday’s (Monday) report, Zhuliang who coached the national diving squad from 2008 said he has no regrets nor feels sad with the decision because he has achieved so much success together with the national diving squad.
