KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has issued a warrant of arrest against PKR vice-president Tian Chua (pic) for failing to turn up for case management of his appeal over his conviction and sentence under the Sedition Act 1948. Justice Mohd Sofian Abd Razak said that on Oct 26, the court had informed parties to be present for case management on Tuesday (Dec 19). He said that Tian Chua and his counsel did not turn up without giving any reason, adding that attendance was compulsory as it was a criminal case. The court later fixed Jan 18 as the next case management date. The Batu MP was charged under Section 4(1)(b) of the Sedition Act 1948.
