But the fiscal update also contains harsh realities they’re less eager to publicize, ones that impugn their credibility as steady hands on the economy’s wheel. Even with the economy cooking, Canada is still almost $20 billion in the red this year. The Liberals have us in the red not because of any revenue shortfalls or economic woes, but because they are hooked on spending. It is only a fiscal update, but it is consistent with a sorry track record of blown projections and broken promises.
