Those are all valid issues that have to be answered, but they’re not at the core of the matter. The heart of the issue, as far as I’m concerned, has always been the hypocrisy and unalloyed arrogance surrounding Morneau’s tax plan. Except, all along, the finance minister was just as down and dirty with the accountants and their tricks as anyone else. It is the hypocrisy that gratesIt’s the hypocrisy that grates, far more than the procedural lapses or political potholes it’s led to. Their retreat from the wreckage of their tax plan has been slow, grudging and acerbic.
