Predictably, North America went agog. Toronto was among 238 city and city states and regions which submitted a bid at the deadline. Even when we consider ourselves wallowing in mediocrity — as with our beloved and frustrating TTC, outsiders declare us the best in North America. After all, Toronto was just named the world’s fastest growing tech market and is now the third largest in North America. What’s heartening are the signs that Toronto is secure and confident enough to sell itself, not sell out its citizens.
