Emergency services responded to a crash on State Highway 2 on Monday evening. A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in intensive care after a crash in Upper Hutt on Monday afternoon. The crash happened between Western Hutt Rd and Moonshine Hill Rd in Silverstream about 4.45pm. A police spokeswoman said the motorcyclist was originally taken to Wellington in a critical condition. State Highway 2 was closed to northbound traffic at the intersection with Fergusson Drive following the crash but later reopened.
