Over 50 people have died from the heatwave that is scorching India including 18 in Bihar and 30 in Odisha. Delhi’s Mungeshpur and Najafgarh recorded a maximum temperature of 49 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while other outskirts areas like Narela recorded 49.2 degrees Celsius and Pitampura recorded 48.4 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to reach 44 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively. At 47.1 degrees Celsius, Buxar was the hottest place in the state on Thursday. Places that recorded temperatures over 44 degrees Celsius are Aurangabad (46.1 degrees Celsius), Dehri (46 degrees Celsius), Gaya (45.2 degrees Celsius), Arwal (44.8 degrees Celsius) and Bhojpur (44.1 degrees Celsius).
