School teachers who were deployed for election duty are upset since they were forced to work a day after the election day, unlike Gujarat where the government declared a holiday. Teachers' organization claim that despite working from as early as 5 am till late at night on the election day, they had to come to school on Tuesday. Many female teachers who were deployed for election duty were made to work till at 2 am. Rajesh Pandya, vice-president of Teachers Democratic Front said, "We demand a holiday because owing to the stress we had to undergo during the election period. A day's leave would allow us to take rest before going back to our daily routine."
