A metropolitan court on Wednesday is going to decide on whether to take cognizance of a defamation complaint filed against Congress president Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making wrong and defamatory statement against BJP president Amit Shah during a recent election rally in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, or not. Meanwhile, Brahmbhatt's lawyer Prakash Patel also submitted some judgments and contended that Gandhi can be tried for the alleged crime in Gujarat. The court had then adjourned the hearing till Tuesday when it was supposed to decide whether to take cognizance in the matter and issue summons to Gandhi, or not. He alleged that Gandhi, while addressing an election rally in Jabalpur, had said, "Murder accused BJP chief Amit Shah. The corporator claimed that the said speech was broadcasted by news channels and published in newspapers causing damage to the reputation of the BJP president.
