"Yesterday, we noted that the condition of the mosque (relief centre) was conducive, so we went ahead with the teaching and learning process as there were also Quran books available. The Kampung Panchor mosque was opened at 4.30pm yesterday to temporarily shelter 72 Tahfiz students and eight teachers from the Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Ainur Syukriah. Earlier the weather improved and floodwaters receded, allowing the students and teachers to return back to their school. Earlier in the morning, the school’s tahfiz students, aged between 11 and 15, joined in the gotong-royong activity to clean-up the school after the flood. "After a hard day of gotong-royong, the students are taking a short nap before they continue with their studies at 3pm," he said.
