MELAKA: The Sungai Melaka tourist monorail, which resumed operations on Dec 4 after being suspended since 2013 due to technical problems, received encouraging response from the public. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said nearly 10,000 passengers have used the service within two weeks of resuming operations. He said the operator, Monorail Themepark and Studios Sdn Bhd (MTS), would acquire a second coach in January 2018 to increase its capacity. The monorail operates from 10am to 11pm from Mondays to Thursdays, with extended service till midnight on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. For foreigners, the ticket prices are RM20 for adults and RM15 for senior citizens, children and disabled individuals respectively.
