Schoolchildren in Alappad panchayat will soon learn mathematics through Manchadi, an education programme launched by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC). If successful, Manchadi will be extended to schools across Kerala. Manchadi intends to teach the subject by connecting it to real life situations using simple methods. The programme encourages students to compare and analyse various methods, leading them to new ideas, said Alappad panchayat secretary T. Dileep. 55 studentsIn Alappad, 55 students from various schools, in the age group of 6 to 9 years and 9 to 12 years, will attend the programme.
