FRANKFURT: Conference on Social Protection and Emergency Safety Net Response, arranged by the World Bank, started in Germany’s city Frankfurt here on Monday. Minister for State and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Marvi Memon represented Pakistan in the conference. She highlighted the efforts of Pakistan government related to social safety net programs. Delegates from 70 countries attended the workshop and shared their experiences on social protection. Other Pakistani representatives, World Bank vice-president, Germany’s parliamentary state secretary to the federal minister for economic cooperation and development and Egypt’s Social Protection minister also addressed the conference.
