Maple Leafs name Mark Hunter as assistant GM to share role with Kyle Dubas

The Toronto Maple Leafs named Mark Hunter as their assistant general manager Monday. Hunter, who joined the Leafs as their player-personnel director in October 2014, will share the role with current assistant GM Kyle Dubas. “Mark’s new title is essentially a formality as these are duties he’s already been performing,” Toronto GM Lou Lamoriello said in a statement. “Brendan (Leafs president Brendan Shanahan) and I have been discussing this change of title since last season. Dubas will continue as GM of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, overseeing all prospects within the club’s system while also leading the Maple Leafs’ player development, hockey research and development departments.
