Even though Ryan Lochte and his U.S. men’s swimming teammates are back in the United States after the Rio Olympics, the fallout from their much publicized incident does not appear to be over. “We all understand they let down our athletes and they let down Americans, and they really let down our hosts in Rio,” Blackmun said. “And they really let down our hosts in Rio who did such a wonderful job, and we feel very badly about that. “If I had never done that, we would never be in this mess,” Lochte told NBC’s Matt Lauer. International Olympic Committee member Anita DeFrantz told the AP that it’s possible that Olympic officials could let the USOC handle the matter.
