Mikaela Greig top scored for Manawatū in their win over Whanganui. CRICKET: Manawatū's Central Hinds shone as they started the Mike Shrimpton Trophy competition with a seven-wicket win over Whanganui. Greig took two wickets with her spin as Manawatū bowled Whanganui out for 193 in 37.3 overs, while White Ferns seamer Rowe took three wickets. Manawatū won the toss and put Whanganui in to bat and their seamers kept pegging Whanganui back, although Greig said they could have bowled Whanganui out for under 100. Whanganui bowled a lot of spin, but the pitch wasn't spin friendly.
