The victim 32-year-old 'Maksud' had been living at the port city's Halishohor for a month in search of work, said police. Maksud was living with his friend 'Hussain' at a mess where he was hacked during the wee hours of Monday, said Halishohor police OC Mahfuzur Rahman. Around 2:30am, other residents of the mess heard a scream and found Maksud lying with stab wounds in his room. He was pronounced dead after being taken to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Maksud hails from Sandwip Upazila of Chittagong.
