Gardaí have launched an investigation after a man suffered serious head injuries following an altercation in a Cork town over the weekend. But he said detectives are waiting for an improvement in the injured party’s medical condition before speaking to him. It’s believed that words were exchanged between the man and at least one individual in the group before an altercation occurred between the victim and another man. The victim suffered serious head injuries arising out of the incident. An ambulance was called and the man was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment for what was a suspected fractured skull and bleeding into the brain.
