(File photo)A man had a lucky escape when his car burst into flames shortly after he noticed it was smouldering while he was driving in Christchurch on Saturday night. A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said by the time the Woolston fire truck arrived at Ensors Road at 7.17pm the car was well ablaze. Fire crew extinguished the fire but the car was extensively damaged. Although referred to police because the car was near a major intersection, the fire was not being treated as suspicious, the spokesperson said.
