Mr Dias then did his own digging and found Harshil Patel, 30, had stolen his identity. Mr Dias told how the fraud left him with depression. Patel, who had no previous convictions, admitted fraud by false representation and using false identity documents when he appeared at Isleworth Crown Court. “Here was someone trying to get on with his life, but he was thwarted by the defendant who had assumed a false identity. You have deceived others by gaining false identity documents and have let down your wife.”
