A man was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife after fasting for eight days during the Navratri festival in Chhattisgarh, India. “Sabal has confessed his crime to the police,” a senior state official said. He even said that he suspected the character of his wife. Family members also informed the police that Sabal had often beat up his wife and thought that she was cheating on him. Police have since taken him into custody and charged him with a case of murder, as per the report.
