The change in system largely centred around Trent Alexander-Arnold pushing into midfield alongside Fabinho while Andy Robertson dropped alongside Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate in a more central role. While Alexander-Arnold thrived in his new role, Robertson struggled to have a similar impact further back. Joel Matip and Joe Gomez remain options for Klopp in the new system, but reports have indicated that Liverpool will look for another central defender to give him another option.
