Mbappe has told Paris Saint-Germain that he will leave the club when his contract expires this summer, which has put some of Europe’s biggest clubs on high alert. It has long been assumed that Mbappe will join Real Madrid but recent reports indicated that the La Liga giants are struggling to reach an agreement on wages. Real Madrid remain in pole position to land Mbappe but it is believed that the 25-year-old would ‘willingly join’ Arsenal to follow in the footsteps of Thierry Henry. Mikel Arteta hopes Arsenal are in the race to sign Mbappe but conceded that Real Madrid is the likely destination for the PSG superstar.
