Two KICC board members blocked from attending board meetings have petitioned a parliamentary committee to investigate the conduct of board chairman Omingo Magara. “I convene meetings for bona-fide members and as we speak they are not members of the KICC per Tourism Act. (+) The KICC board compositionThe two complaining directors were appointed alongside Lucy Makumbi- Macridis and Jane Adam.The law requires that the chairman convenes a full board meeting after directors are appointed, to familiarise members with their new mandate. According to Mwakidedi, “the chairman does things the way he likes- one man show style.” Since he was appointed he has allegedly blocked two directors from meetings. The board is properly constituted and running the business of KICC,” Magara said yesterday on phone.
