KUALA LUMPUR: MISC Bhd, through wholly-owned AET Tanker Holdings Sdn Bhd, has been awarded long-term charter contracts for three newbuilding Suezmax DP2 shuttle tankers from Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.AET specialises in the global ocean transport of petroleum. AET will own and operate the new tankers for operations in Brazilian and international waters. The estimated contract value is US$525.6million, with the charter starting in 2022. MISC said the long-term time charter contracts would reinforce AET’s position as one of the global market leaders in the niche dynamic positioning shuttle tankers market. It will also strengthen its position as among the world’s leading international petroleum shipping solutions providers, MISC president and group chief exceutive officer Yee Yang Chien said in a statement today.
