No such thing as 'unofficial' gag order, says Sabah and S'wak Chief Judge

The Sabah and Sarawak Chief Judge said there was no official court order made by Sessions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat to stop the media from naming the person charged in the case. "I looked at records of proceedings and I spoke to the judge, and he said he made no gag order. "A gag order cannot be unofficial, the press can take it from me, unless there is an official order, you can publish whatever you want to publish. "The bottom line is there was no gag order by the court," Wong added. In this case, there was no court order to gag anybody," he said, adding that there was no such thing as "unofficial" gag orders.
