Zafar Khan, a social worker attached to Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), was assaulted by the municipal employees when he intervened and argued with them. “The municipal employees were looking for a pretext to attack Mr. Khan. The women went to answer nature’s call in the open as they have no toilets in their houses. The employees, who openly support the ruling BJP, first shamed the women and then assaulted Mr. Khan when he objected to their act,” said Mr. Ansari. Mr. Khan is survived by his wife and two daughters.
