The British lawyer representing jailed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday dismissed Bangladeshi media reports which claimed he has previously supported the country’s war crimes accused. Quasem was executed on September 3, 2016 for war crimes committed during the 1971 war against Pakistan. Baron Carlile of Berriew is a politician and member of the crossbench of the House of Lords in the UK. Also Read- Is Lord Carlile a better lawyer for Khaleda? In a separate interview on Tuesday, Carlile said he would provide legal counsel to Khaleda in accordance with the international laws and Code of Criminal Procedure of Bangladesh.
