Long queues were seen outside a Covid-19 community testing centre on the first day of operationQueues were seen outside four temporary Covid-19 test centers on their first day of operation, as worried citizens and those who wish to travel to the mainland rushed to get tested. Although citizens can book for the service online, many elderly citizens arrived at the centers as walk-ins, causing long queues and uproars as people had to wait for up to three hours to be admitted. A dozen of citizens already queued outside the testing center at Yuen Long Town East Community Hall before it opened at 8am. Long queue was also seen at the testing center at Henry G Leong Yaumatei Community Centre where the first one in the queue arrived at 6am. Genetic company BGI, operating the Yuen Long testing center said 370 citizens registered online but many others came as walk-ins, adding the centers were better received than expected.
