No, the real long shot about Long Shot is the sales pitch that’s been brewing since its South by Southwest fest premiere that it will someday be considered a classic romantic comedy, the genre that’s been largely MIA in movie theatres since the advent of streaming. So we’re not supposed to wonder why Flarsky insists on wearing 1980s-style multi-coloured windbreakers and caps long after joining Field’s team. And there’s not much room for other characters in the movie, since Theron and Rogen — who both take producer credits — grab most of it.
