So much so that explainers on when to take a bathroom break became a trending topic shortly following the film’s release last week. In the early 1900s, intermissions were imperative in order for the projectionist to change out reels. At that time, intermissions were a given, and going to the movies was akin to going to the theatre, the ballet or the opera. And a mid-movie break added to the allure, the social aspect of the outing. Well, in the case of Avengers: Endgame, theatre owners believe they can earn more money by cramming in multiple screenings rather than boosting concession sales with a mid-movie break.
