The centre, which will help provide the urban poor an opportunity to market their services, will be set up in the coming months, the officials said. “This centre will be a one-stop shop for the urban poor in need of jobs. The centre will give the poor access to information on market demand, skill training programmes and placement opportunities. “We need more such centres, one is not enough,” said Vanessa Peter, policy researcher, Information and Resource Centre for the Deprived Urban Communities.
