The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has has demanded an explanation from Air India for continuing to operate a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner despite recurring technical issues, sources were quoted as saying by PTI. The aviation watchdog has also issued a show-cause notice to Air India, flagging the repeated technical snags that have recently hit Dreamliner VT-ANI. An Air India investigation later found “systemic failures”, with the airline admitting it needed to do better on compliance. “Air India sincerely regrets inconvenience caused ​due to this unforeseen situation. The aircraft is undergoing the necessary checks,” an Air India spokesperson said in a statement.
